"At ease solider. We've received information about a strategically vital robot compound filled with enemy machines. Your mission: destroy the facility. Our sensors indicate that the place has a reactor in critical condition, all you need to do is find the isotopes scattered around to set off a meltdown. This is a full assault operation, so feel free to use any weapon you manage to find with full lethal force. Good luck soldier, and word of advice? Once that last isotope goes in, run like hell."

Operation: Circuit Meltdown is a small metroidvania-inspired (emphasis on the metroid part) game in the middle of the war between humans and machines. Take the wheel on one of the newest military high-tech mechanized suits to take down the any robot enemies in your path. You'll have to explore the facility to find different weapons and ways of navigating. Just remember: don't desert your mission and when you trigger that meltdown, make sure to run!

Hints

Operation: Circuit Meltdown is designed for the player to learn and explore, but if you want some tips here you are!

Show Hints
  • Dying isn't the end! If you die, you respawn still keeping all the isotopes and collectibles you managed to find! Combining this with the self-destruct option, you have a quick way to get to the center of the map.
  • Enemies respawn as soon as they are off-screen! If you are ever low on health, feel free to camp out a respawning enemy to gain some health.
  • Water will damage you, but more often than not you can run through it with just enough health remaining.
  • There isn't any contact damage! This is key, as some areas of the map are only traversable by using other enemies (specifically Chargers) as platforms.

Charger

"Simple robots, but quite annoying. They got no spatial awareness and can't turn in any other direction besides left or right. Easy enough to deal with one or two charging right at you, but a bunch of them become a handful. Word of advice? They can only charge at what's right in front of them, so feel free to use them as platforms to get up higher or move around places you normally couldn't"

Dropper

"These things will drop scraps regardless of whether it sees you or not, but if it does spot you make sure to get out of the way. They seemingly never run out of metal to drop, so make sure not to get stuck underneath one. These ones will also follow you around, but it's real easy to spoof them by switching directions"

Exploder

"Goods new and bad news with these ones. The good news is that these little ones usually go down with only a hit or two. The bad news? Well, you gotta make sure to do that quick or else it'll blow up in your face! Luckily these guys have some pretty narrow vision, so even though they'll follow you around it only takes a couple seconds of obscured sight for them to forget where you are."

Weapons

Show Weapons

The Gun

"One of our best models. It's got an excellent rate of fire with some good damage. It's not the most flashy weapon, but it does it's job well"

The Electric Gun

"While it doesn't seem to initially pack much of a punch, if you let that charge sit for a couple seconds it'll blast through any robot you encounter. Sure it might take a few to charge up and you could blast your enemies with another weapon during that time. But this gun lets you hold a charge for as long as you like, so feel free to walk around with a fully electric-loaded arm"

The Fire Gun

"Look I'll be frank, it's just a flame thrower. There's literally nothing special to it. Sure maybe, but most robots don't seem to mind the heat that much. But let anything sit in burning flames for a while and eventually, it'll die. Does well with scraps though!"

Other

Show Other

Water

"Look we kinda forgot to seal off some parts of the suit, so stay out of the water. It won't kill you instantly, but it'll sting!

Healing

"We equiped you with the latest tech. So not only does decimating robots give you back some heath, but those isotopes should charge you up a bit as well!

Doors

"Some areas of the facility are locked! Though there should be some overrides using some of the weapons you find. Just blast away at the door with the right weapon, and you should be good"
